NEW TO LUZERN

Moving to a new country is always difficult, especially when you have to adjust to new systems, new cultural traditions, and a new language—particularly if that language is Swiss German! The LiLi Centre and our partners offer a wide range of programmes and events to help you integrate and adjust to your new life here in Switzerland.

Information Coffee Mornings

Do you have questions about living in the town of Luzern? Or are you just looking for someone who knows what it feels like to be an expat? In all cases we are here for you with insider knowledge! Every Wednesday morning from 9:30 – 11:00 we host an informal coffee chat at the LiLi Centre, where team members will be available to answer your questions over a cup of coffee or tea.

Job Integration For Foreigners (JIFF)

Through our partner JIFF, the LiLi Centre offers a number of programmes to help expats network, get advice, and meet a mentor. JIFF runs bimonthly workshops on alternate Wednesdays geared toward helping expats to find and attain work, such as writing a CV for the Swiss market, or learning how to set up a small business.

Swiss Skills Academy (SSA)

At the Swiss Skills Academy, we believe international residents should have access to the tools that will help them be more competitive in the Swiss job market. Basic skills training is an important element of the Swiss Skills Academy’s commitment to supporting the economic integration of international residents.

The Academy’s programme focuses on providing introductory and intermediate level modules in IT (Excel and Word), website design, creating marketing material, social media and personal branding, presentation skills and project management in order to increase the chances of adult learners to integrate into the job market.
