Winter Swimming and Cold Training
As you might have already heard, cold training has numerous physical and mental health benefits. Immersing ourselves in the cold strengthens our immune system and improves our circulation while also reducing inflammation and lifting mood.
I have personally been taking cold showers on a daily basis for over ten years now. In 2017, I started with winter swimming and began training in the Wim Hof method, which enabled me to climb Mt Sniezka in Poland in shorts at -15°C (-30°C wind chill). A truly unforgettable experience!
This year, I feel motivated to share my knowledge with a small group of like-minded people. We will be swimming in Lake Luzern once or twice a week, which will enable us to participate at the historical Christmas swimming event (“Coupe de Noël”) in Geneva on Dec 16th.
If you are interested in participating, feel free to join our kick-of meeting on Tues, 18th Sept at 6pm at the LiLi Centre. After a brief intro, we will take our first plunge together, followed by a hot drink and some more info at the Centre.
What to bring:
