Eco-friendly day at the LiLi Centre
If you are interested in the zero waste concept and upcycling then this event is for you. We have invited several speakers to share tips and tricks with us to improve our homes with homemade eco-friendly products. Whether you are helping to make a quilt on the go; your own cleaning cloths, understanding zero waste and how to implement it, taking part in our gardening seed exchange, book market or clothing exchange. As well as tasting healthy foods this day is bound to be lots of fun and very interesting.
Do you like making things? Do you get a feeling of satisfaction from making something useful? Maybe you're already experienced in sewing but don't have access to a sewing machine? If you answered 'yes' to any of these, then come along and join us!
We will also showcase items that are made from new fabrics and pre-consumer textile waste which can replace single-use disposable items.
During the day there will also be a “clothing swap” and “book market”.
For the clothing swap: please bring your old clothes along, which you can swap for free with other brought in clothes, or if you do not have any clothes to swap, you can make a donation!
For the book market you can buy books for a small price
We're super excited to announce that in addition to the events so far, we shall have an exhibition reminding us about items that can be made from discarded textiles destined for landfill - such as stained t-shirts, odd socks and more. Undoubtedly we won't have covered everything, so come with all your ideas too and we shall add them to our list.
Clothing Swap: please bring your old clothes along, which you can swap for free with other brought in clothes, or if you do not have any clothes to swap, you can make a donation!

throughout the day, there will be a 'quilt-on-the-go' which we would love anyone to help us construct - putting squares together, pinning, ironing or sewing. This will be a lap-sized quilt made entirely of upcycled fabric."
